Privacy Policy
This is a compliance starting point describing what Afiel actually collects and does today. It has not had a formal legal review — get one before relying on it for launch.

Who this applies to
Afiel (afielmp.com, app id com.afielmp) is a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers. This policy covers everyone who uses the app or website — buyers, and merchants who sell on the platform.
Information we collect
At signup: email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), and phone number. Merchants also provide their business name.
For merchant verification (KYC): to approve a seller account we collect a government-issued ID (front and back images), a business registration document, a tax identification (TIN) number, and a store or physical business location. This is required to comply with marketplace and anti-fraud obligations and is reviewed by our team before a store is approved.
Product and store content: product listings, images, and store details a merchant chooses to publish.
Messages: messages exchanged between buyers and sellers through the in-app chat, including any images sent in a conversation.
How files are stored
Identity documents, business documents, and product images are uploaded directly to object storage (Amazon S3 or Cloudflare R2, depending on deployment) using a short-lived signed upload link. KYC documents are kept in private storage and are only accessible to our verification team; they are not publicly listable.
What we do not do
Afiel does not currently integrate any analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking software (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Meta/ad SDKs, or similar). We do not sell personal information, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Information stored only on your device
Some app functionality is saved locally on your device rather than sent to our servers: your language preference, your wishlist (saved products), and whether you've completed the onboarding tour. This is used purely to make the app work the way you left it — it is not shared with us or anyone else, and clearing your app/browser storage removes it. The first time you open the app we show a short notice about this on-device storage, which you can dismiss.
How we use your information
We use the information above to create and secure your account, verify merchant identity and eligibility to sell, operate messaging between buyers and sellers, display listings, and provide customer support. We do not use it for advertising.
Sharing
We share information with service providers who help us run the app — for example, our cloud hosting and object storage providers — solely to provide the service. We do not sell personal information to third parties. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and integrity of the marketplace.
Data retention
We keep account and KYC information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and anti-fraud obligations. You can request deletion at any time — see below.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update most account details from Account settings in the app. You can request a copy of your data or request that we delete your account and associated data by emailing privacy@afielmp.com. We will need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some information (such as records required for tax or fraud-prevention purposes) may need to be retained even after a deletion request.
